West Midlands Warriors take on RAF Halton

in a training match & assault course!

On Sunday 15th January WEST MIDLANDS WARRIORS set out from their home ground at Walsall after a kind invitation from the RAF National Netball Squad to undertake an assault course and training match.

The day started with a superb warm up (RAF Style!) before our Warriors embarked on a little detour across the assault course! They were split into mixed groups, harnessed up and good to go..

The girls endured a good two hours of team building activities which at times looked frightening to say the least but they worked alongside the RAF girls with enthusiasm and determination. Coach Carl Hallbrook (or 'king Carl' as he is affectionately known by his squad!!) participated in the same activities and worked alongside his girls encouraging and supporting them all the way.

After a spot of lunch, kits on and a fantastic mixed warm up by PTI Max Martin which judging by the Warriors faces they thoroughly enjoyed! The girls played six fifteen minutes and although our girls were scoring non stop the RAF squad showed just how tough they are and never gave up.
We are delighted that the RAF will be travelling to our next home game to support the WARRIORS. Captain Alice Hagyard and Vice Captain Kaya Wilson had the following feedback from the girls at West Midlands...

  • SOPHIE: It was a good challenge of mental toughness.
  • ALEX: It was a really great day!
  • ELLIE: A great day working together on the high ropes was brilliant for team bonding.
  • DOM: Good Day testing mental and physical ability.
  • JESS: A chance for the team to bond in an activity out of the ordinary.
