To be the "Number 1 Ranked Team in the World" is a clear driving objective for the next 10 years (2009 - 2019). That ambition relies upon excellent, dynamic structures and processes for the identification and development of talented players from the very earliest stages through to the elite programmes for the England team. The West Midlands have a strong structure which has proven to work with achievements such as West Midlands Warriors winning the NTL title in 2007/08 and securing a third place finish in 2009/10.
With a great team including the Regional Excel Coach and a strong force of coaches, officials and many more volunteers, there are now many opportunities for girls to excel in netball in the West Midlands.
The role of the Regional Excel Coach (REC) is to support these pathways by identifying, developing and mentoring the coaches that deliver the programmes and who are at the core of the development of the athletes. Alongside this, the REC’s remit is to identify and develop talented athletes.
