Schools & Clubs

Schools

Netball West Midlands sees schools as being at the heart of everything we do. School is where youngsters have their first taste of netball and ultimately where they will make the decision to continue playing netball for the rest of their lives. It is because of this that we try to build successful partnerships with our Schools Sport Partnership Networks (SSPs) through our team of Netball Development Officers across the West Midlands. We have ambitious targets by 2013 which we are working hard to deliver on.

  • We are working to ensure 85% of all schools offer netball as a sport. We hope to do this through high 5, school club links and courses.
  • We aim to have a school club link in every SSP to ensure that every child is aware of their community club should they wish to progress further in the sport of netball
  • And lastly, to place a CAPS Accredited club in every SSP to ensure that every youngster has access to a quality experience outside of the school curriculum.

For more information on netball in your local area please contact your local Netball Development Officer.

Our affiliated schools have the opportunity to enter our national schools competition. For more information on this please visit our regional schools section.

Clubs

In the West Midlands we have many clubs in various leagues who are always looking for new players and volunteers.

The best way to find a club is to speak with your Netball Development Officer. They will be aware of which teams and clubs train and play in your county and which would be best suited to your level. We advise getting the contacts for a couple of local clubs so that you can go along and try a couple of training sessions, then join the club you feel best suited to.

If you are a junior player looking for a club we would recommend approaching CAPS accredited clubs. These clubs are recognised nationally as having a well run club which is ACTIVE and ACCESSIBLE for children and young people. Visit our CAPS page for more information.

COMING SOON - Our online Club Finder is currently being developed. Here you will be able to find details and contacts for your local clubs. In the meantime visit our CAPS Accredited Clubs page.
